Welcome to Beaver River
Beaver River roughly marks the Clare line and like Salmon River, which is also in the Southern end of Clare, was a good place to develop a potato crop.

With the opportunity for a semi-commercial farming operation, the residents were able to keep substantial numbers of cattle and other livestock.

In 1860, Beaver River became the seventh of the eighteen villages in Clare to have a post-office.
