Welcome to Belliveau Cove
Once a legendary shipbuilding and lumbering village, today Belliveau Cove offers a picturesque municipal park, walking trail, wonderful restaurants within walking distance from the regional visitor information centre, and local artisans' workshops.

The Joseph and Marie Dugas Municipal Park in Belliveau Cove features an operational lighthouse and wharf, restored post office (established 1856), and craft centre open June-Sept.

For the outdoor enthusiast, the park offers a 5 km nature trail and boardwalk with interpretive panels that follows the beautiful St Mary's Bay shoreline and freshwater wetlands.

While on this trail, stop to visit the first Acadian cemetery and The Little Chapel or "La petite chapelle". A monument erected beside the chapel describes the historical significance of this site.

Walk the wharves, visit the lighthouse, enjoy a snack on nearby picnic tables, or take a stroll on the beach at low tide. The tidal range on this site is an amazing 28 feet and when the tide is out it is a very popular clamming location.

The annual Joseph et Marie Dugas Festival takes place at the park in mid-August to honour the arrival of the Acadian couple to the area in 1768. Music fills the air as locals and visitors alike enjoy food, local crafts, games, workshops, and more!
