Welcome to Meteghan River
See the shipyard and drydock whose buildings date from World War I.

Traditional skills live on here in the largest wooden shipbuilding facility of the Atlantic Provinces. The Meteghan River that flows by this shipyard is geographically located in the very heart of Clare.

Note the extensive protective structures being built to prevent further marine erosion.

Accommodation and restaurants can be found in this village and about 1 km (0.5 mi.) north of Meteghan River bridge, turn right on Placide Comeau Road and watch for signs leading to St. Benoni bridge where you can see breathtaking waterfalls.

Head back to Placide Comeau Road and turn right. When you come to a dead-and, turn left toward Bangor where you can visit the Bangor Sawmill Museum.
