Les Femmes acadiennes de Clare
This is a non-profit organization that began in 1975 and is comprised of a group of 23 Clare women who gather twice a week for various activities. All of the members of are of golden age and share their wisdom experiences and talents when they convene.
Among the various activities in which the ladies partake are arts and crafts of all kinds including the manufacturing of Acadian flags, social days when card games abound, field trips to various local and provincial attractions, quilting bees, knitting and crocheting and more!
The group encourages a healthy and active lifestyle for people of advanced age as most of the ladies take part in exercise programs and often sell their crafts at local bazaars, church picnics, festivals and events.
